Being a woman is complicated.  Women love and care for so many and are the anchor within a family. However, many women find themselves in circumstances that have damaged their hearts and destroyed their spirits.  ChoiceOne has intentionally designed all its services with healing and restoration as the goal.

ChoiceOne services are intentionally designed to meet HER needs when facing a planned or unplanned pregnancy, parenting, the concern of sexually transmitted infections,  mental health issues, and limited resources. 
To meet the needs of our Latina community, we have translators available.

Pregnancy Testing, Emotions & Decisions

At ChoiceOne she will be greeted by one of ChoiceOne's trained client advocates, mentors, or counselors. 
All of our team is trained to help her navigate her experience at ChoiceOne as she faces the challenges
in this moment in her lifel

  • Lab-quality pregnancy tests that can detect pregnancy even before a missed period*

  • Blood pregnancy testing*

  • Pregnancy-Related Counseling

    • Planned and unplanned pregnancy counseling​

    • Pregnancy-related relationship and family counseling

    • Pregnancy anxiety and depression

  • Postpartum screening

Sexually Transmitted Infection (STI/STD)

Screening/Testing

As you would imagine, facing an STI/STD can be very frightening for a young woman. What makes us different is that each young woman will be given a private appointment with a professional and caring nurse who will walk her through the process. CO's nurse will be there to answer her questions pre and post-test results.

Many STD/STIs do NOT have symptoms and therefore ChoiceOne offers:

  • Testing for HIV, Hepatitis A/B/C, Syphilis, Gonorrhea, and Chlamydia 

  • Educational information and tools on how to prevent STI/STDs

  • Education and prevention information to avoid the risks associated with undetected or untreated STD/STIs 

    • risk of delivery complications & newborn infection

    • risk of infertility

    • risk of cervical cancer

    • increased risk of contracting HIV

Mentorship & Counseling Services

ChoiceOne offers two types of counseling services Mentorship and Professional Counseling.

Mentors and advocates are staff and volunteers specially trained to help her navigate ChoiceOne's services and
walk with her during this time in her life.

Intentional Parenting

ChoiceOne Parenting is INTENTIONAL.

We believe that parents who are intentional in their parenting reap the benefits of consistency, pre-emptive situational assessment, reduced conflict, and enhanced conflict resolution

  • Parenting mentorships are offered in groups and individually

  • Specially trained mentors facilitate sessions

  • Guest speakers can include:

    • A Doula (professionally trained childbirth coach)​

    • Medical Professionals

    • Professional Counselors 

    • Educators

Post-Abortion Recovery

No matter what... ChoiceOne REMAINS WITH HER!

Our goal is to introduce each client to Jesus, the one who loves her unconditionally. So many women find Christ through our post-abortion recovery. 

  • It is totally understandable to struggle in the aftermath of hard decisions.  For some, abortion can trigger levels of sadness from regret to more serious mental health issues like clinical depression.

Free and Confidential Pregnancy-Related Services That Include (but are not limited to): Pregnancy test, pregnancy verification ultrasound, counseling, medical and prenatal care referrals, postpartum depression, and abortion recovery. Other services include sexually transmitted infection (STD, STI) screening & treatment, parenting sessions, family aid of material assistance (diapers, formula, baby equipment, etc.), mentorship, and friendship.  Spanish mentors and counselors are available at all locations. CO does not provide abortion services.

*Advanced professional counseling is available through ChoiceOne's CO2 program. Services are offered within a sliding fee schedule that starts at $0.- Fees are determined at time of application and financial review.
